I would firstly recommend getting your boiler check by a expert as poor combustion or a blocked flue may be creating this smell, the other thing to do is to check nothing such as plastic toys has come into contacted and melted with the hot surfaces of the boiler.

If the boiler is new, the smell could be something that the company uses to coat the boiler with until they can sell it, which is normal.

It is possible that there is something wrong with the electrical wires of the boiler. Make sure you look into it and see if the smell is going beyond on the boiler itself. This problem can only be rectified by the official professional, so be sure to call as soon as possible.
