What company merged to make Cingular wireless?

AT&T merged with Cingular to create Cingular wireless back in 2004. Cingular was at that time co-owned by SBC Communications and Bell South. In more recent news,AT&T has also merged with Edge wireless, extending its network even further then the original partnership. Last but not least in the mix is the merger with Centennial Communications Corp.

CIngular wireless merged with Bell South and changed the Bell South name to Cingular. Later on ATT would buy Cingular and they are now called ATT Wireless.
