The male Plumage of Juvenile Mallard Duck's neck is separated with white ring and its head has green color. The sides of the male bird has grey line,where as Female bird has brown stripes feathers and the upper feather has purple color. The head of the female bird is light brown color.

That duckling will be grey in color at first shortly after hatching. Then according to whether it is a male or a female, the color will change and the feathers on the tail will be brownish in color and the rest of it will be white color with dark blue feathers.
