There are several things that can cause frequent urination in dogs. A dog having diabetes will urinate quite frequently. Diabetic dogs seem to be more thirsty so therefore they will urinate alot more. Also a dog that is in renal failure can urinate more frequent than normal. Your best bet is to take your pet to the veteranarian.

Dogs that urinate excessively might have diabetes, a kidney or bladder infection, or a dental disorder causing dryness of the mouth.

In many circumstances, the cause of this symptom can be attributed to a condition known as canine cystitis. This disorder is when the bladder becomes infected and needs to drain regularly. Another cause can be attributed to your dog's age. Older dogs tend to have hormonal imbalances that cause urination.

Many things cause this in dogs. It can be as simple as males urinating frequently to mark their territory, all the way to urethral infection to possible serious illness such as diabetes. If you think your dog is sick, take it to a vet.
