What causes cold sweats?

Sometimes I break out in cold sweats.

Medical conditions such as fever, anxiety attacks or low blood sugar are common causes of cold sweats. Frequently occurring cold sweats should be investigated by a doctor.

Oftentimes it happens as a result of anxiety, stress, or fear. It might be a good idea to see a doctor if you are experiencing intense anxiety, or if you suspect that the flu or an immune system disorder is the cause.

A cold sweat is actually a fight or flight reaction that your body has to some sort of stressor, or fear. When you are confronted by something you interpret as fearful, or stressful, you break out in a cold sweat to prime your body to fight or run.

Cold sweats can be brought on by anxiety or stress. It could be brought on by a bad dream or thinking about a conflict that happened earlier in day.
