The Yadavs are an Indian caste of people. They are said to be naturally inclined to fight, and are related to the god Yadu. Lord Krishna was born into the dynasty of Yadu and is considered the father of the Yadavs. They make up about ten percent of the total population of India.

Yadav means refering to the Yadu. They are an ancient people of India with deep and complicated roots. The Yadu is the name of one of the five "Aryan" clans mentioned in the Rig Veda. Pehraps you can use this as a launching point for further research.
