The concept behind this device is that you can use a radio controlled device to start your car and warm it up or cool it down before you unlock it and get in. It works much the same way that automatic remote key locks work but it starts your car. Works good in winter to warm up car.

they are very affordable and can be very convenient when locating your car. Another great features is that if you know the weather is going to be cold before you exit your car turn the heater on. a few minutes before you have to enter the car you can use to the remote to crank the car.

Typically high end cars will have a remote FOB that has the option to start the car when you are outside of the vehicle. One of the functions is so that you can give the valet key to the valet when you drop off the car and the valet will not have access to the trunk or glove box.
