The majority of auditions you go to will want you to have a monologue prepared. DO NOT plagiarize someone's work. A monologue should fit the type of production you are auditioning for.
Several famous plays contain musical monologues in which the actor recites the lines that move the plot along, rather than singing them. An example would be "Trouble in River City" from "The Music Man".
