The German clockmaker Friedrich Mauthein bult a factory in Schwenningen, Germany. The dates associated with Mauthe vary from 1884 to 1876 as the factory start up date. In any event, his factory closed in 1976. The grandfather or long case clocks from the Mauthe factory are selling for $2,000 upward.
