My dog has reponded well to a change in food. She is now feeding on an organic dog food that is corn, wheat and dye free. My recommendation is a fish and sweet potato formula. Both ingredients are very good for the dog's coat. If you are a treat giver, try dehydrated chicken breast.

The best thing you can do is go to the vet and get allergy medicene. It is generally cheap and since its only seasonal allergies you will not need to buy a massive supply. Also a vet can tell you what may be causing the allergies so the problem can be remedied.

Use Skin-eze chewable tablets or see your vet for antihistamine or steroid medication. Keep your AC/heating unit filters clean and there is also a 3M Filtrete vacuum bag which dramatically reduces dust and pollens. Another recommendation is to put a Cloud 9 Hepa filter where your dog sleeps.

Talk to your vet regarding your specific dog, but my vet o. k. ed giving my dog good old fashioned Benedryl. He gets a child's dose whenever his allergies start to affect him severely, and it usually helps him right away. The downfall is that it makes him tired and grouchy, but it helps him function.
