It is likely that these are Turf Grass Millipedes. The other name for them is thousand legger because of the multitude of legs on their bodies. They live outside in moist areas such as decayed leaves and organic material. They come inside to escape unfavorable conditions in their habitat. They die because it is too dry in the house.

If your worms have many little legs, they are millipedes. They like to come indoors when it is too wet or dry for them outdoors.

There are a couple possibilities. They are probably larva of some type of insect. They could be clothes moth caterpillars, carpet beetle larva, or even millipedes.

Sometimes millipedes come inside through small cracks and such. They can't live long without water and usually die in a day or so. The worms may be insect larvae. Do some research and compare looks of your housepest. Don't forget to check out the animal parasites.

It's hard to say from your short description. It could be larvae of some kind or it could be an insect I've never heard of. Do you have earthworms in your house?
