Leadership styles vary from person to person. However there are some basic styles that you can look for and even apply. A good leader needs to be able to make decisions. He also needs to be able to command and hold the respect of the people under him.

Authoritarian or autocratic – commanding style Democratic or participative (authoritative) – participation and equality Laissez-faire or free reign - (unengaged in leadership) few controls only to the leader Transactional - Business based Transformational - Future oriented Bureaucratic - Focus on policy and procedures
