Three concrete footings can be slab on grade, pile footings and deck piers. Slab on grade is a simple concrete slab placed over subgrade. Pile Footings are usually done for big buildings that are heavy. Pier footings help a building sit above ground level.

They are called T-shaped footings, slab on grade foundation, and frost protected foundation. They are all meant for different types of environments and situations that can present themselves when laying foundations.
