Symptoms of FIV do not generally show up until Stage 3 of the illness. Symptoms include weight loss, poor coat condition, anemia, stomach problems, and diarrhea. Chronic infections may occur on the skin, eyes, urinary tract or respiratory tract.

The most noticeable symptom is high fever and lethargy. If the cat is obviously feeling bad or has fever or swelling, get them to the vet.

Feline Immuno Deficiency is much like that of humans where the symptoms are almost indistinguishable. If your cat has recieved all of its vaccinations and is relatively an indoor cat, chances are that the feline is suffering from something else that can be determined and treated by a qualified veterinarian.
