The pet will act unusual and may seem not to recognize you. They will run a very high fever which will cause confusion and lethargy. Have your pet vaccinated at the appropriate times for distemper.

As the distemper progresses symptoms include eye and nose discharge, diarrhea, heavy breathing, and vomiting.
