Some symptoms of an ovarian infection are: fever, lower pain in the abdomen, a dark vaginal discharge, and general pain and weakness that is common with infection is present.
Ovarian infections often cause abdominal distention and discomfort on the affected side. You may notice a vaginal discharge in relation to the infection.
These symptoms are very similar to a yeast or bladder infection, but can often be confused. If bladder or yeast infection medication do not work then it is most likely you have an ovary infection. Go see your doctor immediately. Symptoms include pain, swelling, itch, unpleasant odor and stomach pains.
Symptoms of an ovary infection include fever, severe abdominal pain, and possible irregular menstrual bleeding. The best way to diagnose this type of infection is with an ultrasound at a hospital. If the infection isn't able to be treated successfully with antibiotics, the ovary may need to be removed to prevent spreading.

some women experience cramps and twinges during ovulation, and sometimes a small amount of blood in the discharge. Also headaches, gastric pain and general malaise are commmon. there are few symptoms of infection, cysts or cancer of the ovaries, which is why conditions often go unnoticed.
i would think some symptoms would be extreme pain in the area and some bloating there also. there may be some discharge too that would be troublesome to the woman . you could even have the ovary swell and be able to feel it in the side of the abdomen that is effected.
Ovarian infections are incredibly rare, but the the most common symptom is lower pelvic pain and flank pain. Unfortunately, this symptom is common to urinary tract infections, ovarian cysts, yeast infections, and a whole host of other problems. If the pain persists or grows more severe you should seek medical attention due to the wide range of possible problems.
The most common symptom of ovarian infection is severe pain but it may also be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, chills, fever, and fainting - all caused by the severity of the pain. Women suffering from these symptoms must seek medical attention. Untreated ovarian infection can cause scarring and possible infertility.
