Symptoms of a peptic ulcer include a burning sensation in the stomach, nausea, spitting up blood through vomiting or coughing, and generalized abdominal pain. These symptoms are usually more prevalent when certain foods are eaten, particularly foods containing a number of spices or tomato products. Tomatoes are an extremely acidic food.
