The family/friends decide how a memorial service is to be conducted and what should be contained in it. The deceased may have planned the service prior to his death. There is no specific program. A memorial service might include friends/family speaking, music, performances, prayer, singing, meditation, etc. It just depends on what family/friends believe best honors the deceased.

Memorial services usual start with a Welcome to the people attending, followed by several people sharing memories of the person that has passed away. After which a preacher often gives an ulugy and then there is a song or two. The service is concluded with a prayer.
