There are no laws specific to hiring a babysitter in your home other the laws that affect everyone. It's up to you to hire a responsible individual and, unless that person is well known to you, check into the background and references of that individual.

There aren't any specific laws regarding a babysitter in your home. You are expected to choose a responsible individual and then make the rules clear. Of course, abuse, neglect, etc. are not permitted, but that applies to everyone, not just your babysitter.
