Architecture is important for Mediterranean designs, especially arched doorways, if possible and stone. Interior colors should be earth tones, shades of brown, sage green, & terracotta work nicely.
This style of home has a stucco exterior over a one- or two-story plan. The roof is shallow with a wide overhang to provide shade in warmer climates. Archways, breezeways, porches and big windows are typical, as are tile roofs.
