Art Deco had a great and deserved resurgence in the 80's- excellent! Mirrors were key, and geometric fixtures, lines etc- remember, Art Deco is the key influence here, infused with 60s/70s elements such as posters, Marimekko style fabrics, chrome, clean lines, Swedish inspired furniture was adored, clean oak and pale woods, touches of leather and natural fabrics.

Interiors that feature a lot of black, contrasted with pastels (particularly pale pink and pale yellow). Many furniture pieces in the 1980s were made of glass (glass-topped coffee tables, for example) with brass or other yellow-metal elements or trim. Some people in the 1980s also went for a country feel, particularly in the kitchen -- think blue gingham with geese.

In my memory,as a child of the 80s I remember lots of floral patterns in fabric, wicker chairs, wooden paneling on the walls and ceilings. Artex! Peachy colours. Puffy curtains
