What are the disadvantages to a flat panel monitor?

There are no significant disadvantages to a flat panel monitor compared to a CRT (non flat panel) monitor. In the past, cost was a major factor in continuing production of CRTs, but flat panel monitors are now often the cheaper choice.

The colors are created differently and there may be some distortion. The non-flat would also be less expensive than the flat.

The only disadvantage for a flat panel monitor is that it has a bigger time of response than the LCD, but I don't think its noticeable with human eye. They made non-flat panels because at that time they didn't have the proper tehnology to make a better one. Good luck with that!
