First, there is the "old school" American Pit Bull Terrier, often referred to as "gamebred" (Jeep, Redboy, etc). Next there are the transition show dogs such as Gaff and Knowlwoods. Last, Razor's Edge and Gottiline belong to a new breed called American Bullies (sometimes called pit bulls).

AGREED, It's like when they change that pop formula that time to make it better. They left something out. It didn't perform on the shelves like it use to. It was missing something. It just wasn't good as the old drink.  add a comment

There are several different kinds of Pitbull bloodlines. One of the most popular and well respected bloodlines comes from the Notorious Juan Gotty. The Gotty pits are well recognizable for their blue and white coats and heads that can measure well above twenty inches in curcumference. These Pits are also known to have great temeraments and live well with children.

There are a great number of pitbull bloodlines, but some pitbull bloodlines include Rocky, Carver, Spike, Hank, Zebo, Booger, Yellow, Sundance, Palladin, and Royal Red. Here is a website with a little more information: ndbc.co.za/bloodlines

Bloodlines only refer to the Sire or Kennel. Pit Bulls should not be short, or stocky. This image is what "bloodlines" like Razor's Edge or Gotti are not 100% Pit Bull bloodlines.

Bloodlines came from top fighters or show dogs. Now novices are breeding dogs and calling it a bloodline. Boy how the mighty has fallen. adriel is right the proof is in the pudding.  add a comment

Put it to the test, I bet you'll stop it then! There was truly only one way to tell how true your dogs were. instead of living in a fantasy world. To bad it's illegal. There beautiful dogs, just shouldn't be called pitbulls.Maybe petbulls or pigbulls.  add a comment

Razors edge, Gotti/Greyline, Watchdog, Knowlwood and Dela Cruz to name a few. There are literally hundreds of Pit Bull bloodlines in the U. S alone. If your interested talk to a Pit Bull Breeder and look into the type of Pit you want.

Gotti, Greyline,And all that thick stuff there pushing off as Pit bulls nowadays. I'm 54 and seen alot of dogs in my time. I never thought I'd see the day the ADBA would buckle to money. Many dogs can be called pitbulls, But all aren't Pit Dogs. Those show Dogs.  add a comment

"Pitbull" isn't a breed. There is the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Stafforshire Terrier, and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. They are all slightly different, although the APBT and the AmStaff are very similar. The AmStaff and Staffy are both recognized by the American Kennel Club, the APBT is not.

There are very many different types of pitbull bloodlines such as red nose, blue pits, american pit bulls, and red nose blue pit bulls are just a few types.

Reply by PeterBuiltKennels (17):
Red/blue nose simply refers to the nose leather color, and is not an actual bloodline. There is only one "bloodline" of APBT that is called "Red Nose" and that is the OFRN or Old Family Red Nose.  add a comment

Thank you, rarely do correct breeding throw a red nose dog. less it's OFRN. Anything else is the result of mix or inbreeding. Bringing in a recessive gene.  add a comment

the ofrn strain was mixed into many of the other bloodlines at one point so you can still get a red nose from time to time .. if i understand correctly , even colby would come up with a red nose here and there , her just culled them  add a comment
