What are the different "simplex" types for herpes?

There is type 1 and type 2. Type 1 is commonly found in infections on the face around the lips and mouth. Type 2 is commonly found on the genitalia. Both viruses are the same in threat and can be sexually transmitted. It's common for type 1 to occur on the genitals and type 2 to occur on the face.
