What are the differences in the various laundry dryers on the market?

I am buying my first dryer.

Nowadays, they are all about the same. Yes, they all have some different labels and features, but in reality they are all about the same. Unless you have some specific need that is unusual, I would go with whatever is the best deal.

The major differences that I have found are the size of the drum(drying area) and some of the setting. Brand wise however can be tricky because the larger companies often sell under several names. Example is the Hotpoint drier is the lower end of GE. They are basicly the same drier with the same settings. Depends on your use really.

There are a wide variety of laundry dryers are available in the market. The differences depends on how they heat the air mean it using gas or electricity and how they are programmed to shut of once the cloaths are dry ie how moisture sensor works. Gas models typicall costs $50 to $100 than electricity models.

Look for capacity, heat control (no heat, low, medium, etc), and wrinkle guard. Next, but adding cost, would be a stainless steel drum. Steam is nice but a costly option.
