WHile there are many great books about King Arthur, the best one to read is "The Once And Future King" by T. h. White. The books is actually five stories in one, and goes from Arthur's life as a child to the fall of Camelot. The first book, "The Sword In The Stone", is recognizable as a Disney movie.

Well along that genre I would strongly suggest Ivanhoe, it is a classic of knights and the like. A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court is great and you can try the Mists of Avalon.
