The objective in volleyball is to cause the ball to go over the net, and touch the ground inside the opposing team's court. Each team is allowed to hit the ball three times before it goes over the net. However, you may not catch, carry or throw the ball.

The basics of volleyball essentially consist of serving the ball (either overhand or underhand), volleying the ball, spiking the ball, setting the ball to your teammate, or underhanding the ball with your arms together.
