What are the advantages and disadvantages of ring topology?

A ring topology offers easy setup and is a cheap way to configure a network. However, the main flaw with a ring topology is that when something breaks, it is often difficult to pin-point just where the issue is coming from. although, a ring topology generally offers limited redundancy to an extent.

Ring Topology in computer networking has advantages and disadvantages in front of other network topologies. Main advantage is that there is no need for central server to pass the data between computers. Disadvantage is when single computer fails, entire network fails too.
