What are the advantages and disadvantages of being an only child?

The advantage is having strong financial support and entire care from parents,the disadvantage is they will not get the habit of sharing or adjusting with others. They will be very adament character and after the death of parents there will not be any blood relation to share our feelings

Advantages: You don't have to share! They tend to be very independant and better at solving problems on their own. Disadvantages: you don't learn to share. Only children tend to have more difficulty making friends in the early grades because they always want things their way they have not learned to compromise unless they are exposed regularly to playgroups.

An only child may not learn to share toys or time and be socially inept. An only child may have more time with parents, resulting in an academic head start.
