If your sister is not getting the proper nutrition this will affect the baby. The baby need nutrients in order to grow and will not be healthy. You need to find a way to get your sister help in order to save this baby. She is putting herself and the baby in danger.

Bulimia during pregnancy can lead to nutritional deficiencies that may harm the development of the growing child. Certain nutrients are the catalysts for proper development (hint: folic acid – nervous system). Probably the single most important thing to do if a woman that suffers from bulimia is pregnant is consult a physician knowledgeable about bulimia.

Bulimia during pregnancy is very dangerous due to the risks that are imposed on the fetus. The growing fetus will not receive the nutrition it needs for development and is at risk for birth defects and death. Your sister needs immediate medical and psychological intervention if she is to deliver a healthy, full term infant.

There are many concerns. If your sister is bulimic then the baby could not get the nutrients that it needs and could be born with problems including prematurity or disabilities.
