I always like giving massive amounts of random stuff from quarter vending machines. Beyond that, Think Geek or Unemployed Philosopher's Guild always have fun quirky gifts.

The best weird gift I've ever gotten is a sealed glass globe with tiny little shrimp living in it, complete with a tiny magnetic scrubber to clean the algea on the glass. Ant farms, certain radio-controlled toys, big squirt guns, Venus fly traps, and wacky garden statues all count as weird.

there are a lot of weird gifts in the market nowadays, (a bowling ball or a mask) some of it are found on the streets and in the most unlikely places. sometimes weird is associated with uniqueness, so a weird gift is equal to a unique gift. you can find weird gifts at thrift stores and the like.
