The statistics are frightening: a million people have heart attacks every year in the United States. About four hundred thousand of them die. That alone should help your husband quit!

Heart attacks and heart disease is still the number one killer in the U.S. and your risk increases with age. Many factors can affect your chances of a heart attack such as obesity, diabetes and smoking. A lack of exercise and a poor diet can also help the attack chances along.

Heart attacks are bad enough, but smoking can cause cancer. MY husband just had tonsil cancer from smoking for 40 years. His heart was in great shape and he was not over weight. Those two things combined help him make it through the cancer. He has no saliva and never will and has to drink water constantly.
