What are some remedies for a blocked ear tube?

I think that is what my son has, can I treat it myself?

Try this homeopathic remedy: fill a bowl with boiling water and add several drops of organic eucalyptus oil. Put your son's head over the steam, and then a towel over both his head and the bowl. Breathe deeply for about 5 minutes, and it should help the blockage to break up and drain. Worked for me as a child!

Easiest: drip it with oil and let that soak the cerumen that's in there. Apply before bedtime for 2-3 days. If it won't come out with this, you can try to flush it out. A simple blocked tube does not give fever or excessive pain, just hearing loss. good luck

No. Do not mess about with your son's ear canal. You can permanently damage his hearing if you do. Most of the time excess earwax will clear up on its own. The ear automatically moves earwax toward the outer ear (the bit that sticks out from your head). If it doesn't clear up by itself, see a doctor.

They say never to insert something into your ears that is smaller than your elbow because it can cause serious damage. It is not safe to put or stick anything in the ear especially a child. I wouldnt trust anyything and consult his doctor to make sure that it is being done properly.

You need to see the doctor who put in the myringotomy tubes. They will be able to unplug them manually or give you a prescription for some ear drops. I would not treat them at home becuase of the possible infectious complications.
