Lilacs are a hardy plant that does well in an area with good drainage. They are susceptible to a few plant diseases including powerdy mildew, phytophtora blight, and gray mold.

Powdery Mildew is a common disease that appears in hot and humid weather. Apply a general purpose fungicide 2 or 3 times a week a part. The sooner the better.

i think maybe some bacteria eating the plant. or maybe a locust eating on the flowers and leaves of the lilac.
