Arabians are sometimes considered "hot" horses with lots of spirit. To train your Arabian successfully, give your horse plenty of exercise before attempting to teach the horse something new. Drain off energy by lunging in a round pen or giving the horse some free play time in a field. Your Arab will have better focus after some exercise.

Arabians in general are very smart. This can be a bad thing. But they also become very loyal over time. Remain patient and be prepared for their stamina.

The best advice one could give you is to be patient. Arabians often times are flighty and like to test their rider. If you can be patient and get through that you will be ok.

Arabians can be hot tempered so be careful if you're inexperienced. You need a lot of time and patience to dedicate to the training.

Arabians are EXTREMELY intelligent. Be calm, be consistent, and be patient. Use kindness, break your requests down to small steps. Repeat, consistently. Praise when job done correctly. Do not be aggressive- be calm and quiet, and CONFIDENT.

Remember that an Arabian is an intelligent, high spirited horse. Be gentle, reasonable and intelligent yourself. Avoid aversive training and punishment. Use positive reinforcement and get to know your horse well. Spend time on grooming, feeding and enjoyable activities. Look up Monty Roberts' Join-Up method of horse gentling for the best way to train any horse.
