Some good ideas are baked chicken, sandwiches, macaroni salad, cole slaw, fruit, deviled eggs,
corn on the cob, pound cake, macaroni and cheese, tossed salad, water, ice, are all good things
to take on a picnic.
Any portable food is great for a picnic, as long as you pack it well. Pack in perishables in airtight
containers and place them in a cooler with plenty of ice. Some foods that pack and transport well, include fried chicken, sandwiches, salads, fruit, and any dish that can be eaten cold.
Sandwiches and fried chicken can be made extra special by changing up the ingredients and trying something different in your recipe, or cheese, crackers, fruit and salads with vinegairette dressing.
Hand held foods make the best choices. Try pita sandwiches, sliced veggies such as carrots and green peppers, and brownies for dessert. Include bottled water and lots of napkins.
