Sretching and yoga are great exercises for loosening up the spine. Both of these routines will increase flexibility and relieve any stress on the discs in the spine. Flexibility exercises should be conducted daily for the best results.

Bicycle riding will get the blood flowing, but it will be best to use a stationary bike over a real bike just for safety. Getting in the water also helps. Swimming and just being in the fool will really help the back out. Any workout that uses a slow movement of the body is the best way to go.

Walking, biking and core strengthening exercises are good for spinal stenosis. Swimming is also an ideal exercise. All these exercises will strengthen your muscles and it will give more support to your back.

For spinal stenosis there are very good yoga asaanas called macha asaan in sanskrit if people perform that exercise for some period they definately get better.
