I always like a 1980s theme for my parties. You can get the 80s music cranking! Plus, it brings back memories for everybody! Who doesn't remember the craziest decade in our history? Try getting everybody to dress up as though it's the 1980s and see if everybody doesn't have the time of their lives!

You should have some sort of contest or competition in any party. Even if it's just a game or two or even a scavenger hunt, try putting men against women

Some funny party themes include: "Horror Movie Characters", where all the participants can dress up like their favorite horror film character. Or "Mario Brothers/Nintendo Characters", where the cake can be a giant Nintendo controller, and the background music can be from Nintendo games. "Weekend at Bernie's", where you have a fake "Bernie". Or "Animal House" could be a great one.

Perhaps the theme can be your high school. People can come dressed as their favorite/least favorite teacher. You can have trivia on your table about teachers and staff. You can play the Pictionary game where you draw on the little person they give you. Make up your own cards!

What's about a retro child party? Why not look back on more time and play some kid games like apple blobbing and dress up as your favorite child hood star/hero.
