What are some facts about the Percheron breed of horses?

My boyfriend has a Percheron and I want to impress him with my knowledge. What can you tell me about this breed of horse?

The Percheron originated from Le Perche, France. Because of their size, strength and gentle disposition, they were used for agricultural labor and to pull coaches in the cities. Today, they are mainly used as pleasure and driving horses.

Origins in France, on the border of Normandy. Used by Knights as mounts (aka. Coursers), coach horses, farm animals. Imported to USA in the early 1900's. Known for black at birth, changing to grey as they age. Versatile- they ride, drive and pull. Energetic, intelligent, athletic animals.
