"Their relationship climaxed" is a good one. It could just mean the relationship ended, but it hints at a sexual aspect to the whole affair.

A double entendre refers to a phrase that has two meanings, and currently double entendre is used to refer to a term that usually has a sexual meaning as well as the literal. For example, saying a shepherd as a big staff may either refer to the shepherd's crook he holds or be a phallic reference.
