What are some effective roach killing methods?

I have three ideeas: the well known killing with a book action is the first one. Another one is " have a clean home and there will be no bugs" and the last is the bug spray.

One of the most effective methods is borax and sugar. Don't inhale this stuff. Mix about half and half and sprinkle in corners and near baseboards and leave it there. The sugar attracts them and the borax kills them. You'll still have to sweep or vacuum and perhaps reapply.

Stomping on them. Place styrofoam cups over the roaches. Leave them there for a couple days and the roaches will be dead when you go back to them. At most stores you can buy an over the counter spray to kill them, such as ortho home defense. Roach hotels are also an option.

Other than typical insect sprays and traps, here are a few suggestions for you: Boric acid is a known roach killer. The bugs walk through it and traipse it back to their lair and the colony dies. Another good one is to buy a cat. Cats have been known to eat roaches and lower your stress levels.

Just keeping a clean house deters them from wanting to be there but I found Raid is the best spray to use. I have used Combat also, I like their Jell.
