Can roaches be white?

I think I saw a white roach.

Yes. They are roaches that are "molting" and they are white until their shell hardens. Usually when they are going through that they stay hidden. This could mean that there is a serious infestation and the molting ones are out searching for food. The old saying about roaches is that if you see one, then there are a hundred more.

Roaches aren't normally white, but if one has just shed it's skin, it will appear to be a white color. Most roaches are a brown or black color. So, don't worry much! There isn't a new or special kind of roach within your home. If you see more roaches, be sure to find something to kill them with.

Roaches can go without eating for a month but will only live a week without water. If you see a white cockroach, it has just shed its skin.

Believe it or not cockroaches are white, at least temporarily. Cockroaches go through ecdysis (moulting). Cockroaches are white after ecdysis before tanning to the brown we all know and love.
