The best way to get your kids ready for school is to have them work on projects that require drawing various lines and then learning to cut along those lines. You can work those particular activities into many different projects. You can also draw very simple animals on paper and have your kids color them and cut them out.

You can make anything educational. Make your own frosting for cookies and show how to make certain color frosting using different food colorings, go on a nature walk and ask the child to take pictures of things that start with a certain letter.
