Make sure that you have cleaned the driveway well before sealing. Use a quality sealer that is made for your specific driveway material. Apply the sealer in one application and allow to dry completely before using the driveway again.

First and foremost CLEAN it thoroughly with a VERY DILUTE solution of muriatic acid in water. Scrub and rinse well with high pressure. If concrete, there are several excellent and waterproof porch paints available, UGL Drylock is superior. If asphalt, an elastomeric product like AFM DynoSeal is worth the cost.

In order to seal your driveway, you must first pressure wash and clean the entire surface. Then you must seal the driveway with a commercially available sealer.

Check the weather for conditions recommended by product manufacturerer. Wear old clothes you can throw away. Edge your driveway using a shovel to remove any weeds and debris from the edges. Sweep away loose debris and clean up any oily spots. using applicator, smear a generous portion of sealer on all areas of the driveway. Let dry.

You will need at least 24 hours of warm, dry weather. Next wash that driveway of grass, oil, and other debris (this is the most important step). Purchuse a sealant that best fits the surface of your driveway. Apply sealant as directed on product.
