Labs get hip dysplasia and have problems with their knees often needing surgery. They also get ear infections since their ears are heavy and hold in moisture.
As with all large breed dogs hip dysplesia and other joint problems are fairly common to chocolate labs. Consulting a website such as the AKC will provide detailed breed information.
