Some of the most common health issues and diseases for Westies are diabetes, ear infections, heart disease, cateracts, kidney problems, sinus and allergy problems, tooth and gum problems, and they are at high risk for doggy cancer.

Alot of them end up with problems with their sight because the hair on their face grows along and alot of times it will url back around and into their eyes. Also watch them close for their anal glands to become clogged and you will need to take them to the vet.

A common health issue for Westies is bladder cancer. Our dog was just under 8 years old when he started having issues with not eating and unable to control his urination. After many tests, it was discovered that he had bladder cancer. Another common issue for Westies is skin irritations.
