Traditional large scale power supply methods are those that burn oil, coal, natural gas or utilize nuclear energy. Alternative power supplies include capturing solar and wind energy or even methods of burning plants for ethanol. New ideas include burning algae scum and utilizing plants other than corn in ethanol production.

The primary renewable energy resources are: wind, solar, hydro-electric (from dams and turbines in flowing water), wave harnessing (essentially wind turbines in water) and geo-thermal (harnessing heat from the Earth to make power).

Solar power and wind power are safe. Instead of using power mowers and tools, use the roller mower and manual labor for most tasks, if possible.

Go with Solar Panels on your roof. They not only are VERY eco-friendly but they also are money saving. It costs a lot for initial start up but pays off after a while. The power companies actually pay YOU for any extra energy you don't use.
