What are no-see-ems?

No-see-ums are very tiny biting flies. Their technically named "biting midges". They are so small that they are very hard to see, and easily fit through window or door screens. You can treat their bites successfully just like you would a mosquito bite, and insect repellent works well to keep them from biting you.

They are sand flies. They bite humans. This can cause itching as well as an allergic reaction to the bite.
