First read the question and all of the answers all the way through before choosing an answer. The question will almost always have one or two answers that you can rule out right away. Of the remaining answers choose the one that answers the question best. Take your time. Don't rush though the exam. Study the material.

Use common sense, always use turn signals, study. On multiple choice only one is the correct answer, on true, false make sure all parts of the question are correct.

Well some proper tips are to know what parallel driving is. Know what to expect in road conditions. Don't drive too fast or bumper to bumper. Make sure you know what conditions are appropriate for changing lanes. Just make sure you know everything about driving. Make sure you can parallel park.

There are many free online practice exams. Most DMV's also offer practice test questions online. I would practice these over and over until you are comfortable. For the walk around part of the license taste make a sheet up of key points and practice your walk around many times before going to the driving test.
