In the Bible (Genesis), God allowed Adam and Eve to eat from every tree in the Garden of Eden, except for the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. They disobeyed, eating the fruit of that tree, which had been forbidden. Forbidden fruits are anything you're not supposed to have.
